Ear Treatment

Some dogs, like Cocker Spaniels, are notorious for ear infections.
Depending on your dog, once the infection has been eradicated,
you might have to clean its ears daily or weekly.

Ear  and more "Blue Power Ear+ Treatment"

  •  16 oz Isopropyl Alcohol (or 16 oz of Witch Hazel if ears are very inflamed)

  • 4 Tbsp Boric Acid (crystals and granulated disolves better than powder)

  • 16 drops Gentian Violet Solution 1% ( can stain fabric)

You will  need to shake the solution every time you use it, to disperse the Boric Acid Powder.   . Purchase a "Clairol" type plastic bottle to dispense solution to affected ears.   These bottles can be found at beauty supply shops.  This will last on shelf indefinitely.  For external use only and be careful not to get in eyes

Treatment

  • If ears are inflamed, do not attempt to clean out ear at all. Wait until inflamation has subsided.

  • Put cloth under ear and pour or drop several drops into ear, massage gently for 60 seconds then wipe with tissue.

Schedule

  • 2 times a day for 1-2 weeks

  • 1 time a day for 1-2 weeks

  • Then follow up with once or twice a week.

If infection remains after 4 weeks, they may also have Pseudomonas bacteria. Eradicate using gentle flush of raw apple cider vinegar and warm water 2 times a week, a solution of 2 tablespoons of vinegar with 1 cup of water.
